Everyone is always saying that you can't go wrong by holding back a late birthday for kindergarten. My son will turn 5 in October. He seems ready and has been in a 4-year-old preschool this year. He's also the youngest of 4 so is always keeping up with his siblings. Is there anyone out there who can weigh in on this??

I think this really depends on the child and on the kindergarten program he's entering. If he's heading into a program that's serious about getting kindergarteners reading by the end of their year, and he hasn't started really sounding out letters, he'd probably have a hard time. But if he is reading already, it might not make sense to hold him back. I'd talk to the school about having your son assessed for an early entrance if your gut tells you he's ready for the program. Talking with parents of kids who went into first grade younger than the rest of their class at that school might help, too.

I am a Special Education Teacher, and was responsible for administering the Early Admittance to Kindergarten assessment. If you feel that your child is socially ready to start Kindergarten in the Fall, contact the school where he would enroll. They will test him, and report back to you whether he is academically ready. If you have a good evaluator, that person may also give you feedback about testing observations (ie: Was he attentive? Did he need to be redirected back to task? Did he require frequent breaks?) Good luck with your decision.

My personal feeling is that a child can't be 'too ready' for school. Your child might be brilliant, might really be ready for the learning elements, but I think too many of us ignore the element of emotional maturity that is a key to academic success. More importantly, it is the key to enjoying their time at school.
Finding a K program that might meet an older child's interests/needs could perhaps be the focus for next year, and your child could in the meantime enroll in a Pre-K program that allows him to explore the more academic elements covered in some K programs. |

How would you know aion gold if a tutorial is a good one? A thorough tutorial will first explain to you the basic rules of the sports you are betting on. For world of warcraft powerleveling people who are first timers, this will be a way to get a grip on what you are really betting on. A good tutorial will also explain the Maple Story Mesos odds of you winning SilkRoad Gold or losing. There should also be an explanation of the each kind of bet and what each one means. These things are the general and basic information that each one who bets at football should know. However, a tutorial is not Lord of the Rings Online Gold only for those who are first timers. A football betting tutorial may also be beneficial even to those who are already experienced.
