Kid-friendly Noon New Year’s celebration at the Maryland Science Center

Betsy Stein | 12/28/11

Ring in the New Year with your kids at a ruckus party without having to keep them up until midnight.

The Maryland Science Center is having its fourth-annual Midnight Noon celebration Dec. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The ball will drop and the confetti cannons will start popping at noon. All while the Baltimore band Milkshake entertains with their kids’ rock and roll music.

There will also be the kid-friendly improvisational stylings of Now This! Entertainment, that will take the crowd’s ideas and turn them into songs, sketches and musical fairy tales. Children can also help with party prep by crafting their own party hats and noisemakers.

All activities are free with paid admission to the Science Center, which starts at $14.95 for adults, $11.95 for children 3-12 and free for children under 3. The center is located at 601 Light St. at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. For details and tickets, visit www.marylandsciencecenter.org or call 410-685-5225.
