Discovery Girls magazine has launched DiscoverYourDaughter.com to help parents guide their daughters through the confusing and complicated not-quite-teen years. The site is based on the magazine’s 10 years of extensive work with 8- to 12-year-old girls across the country.
“DiscoverYourDaughter.com is a place where parents’ concerns are taken seriously,” said Catherine Lee, founder of Discovery Girls magazine as well as the Web site. “In the last decade of publishing the magazine, we’ve learned so much about this age group and about how girls think and feel, that we felt the need to share what we’ve discovered with other parents.”
The site provides parents with a place to learn more about their daughters; insight into the difficulties tween girls are facing at this stage in their lives; common misconceptions about the life of a tween girl; tips to help parents better communicate with their daughters; and a free monthly e-newsletter covering the most relevant, timely topics for parents of tween girls.
