I took my family to Port Discovery Children’s Museum this week for the first time since my youngest was 3, and I was totally impressed.
On my last visit, I attended a birthday party with only my 3-year-old in tow, and I was totally intimidated. I didn’t love the fact that she could enter the large climbing structure in the middle of the museum and come out on any floor. I never went back for fear of losing track of my passel of toddlers at the time.
But now my kids are older and they all enjoyed the experience. My oldest, who is 11, loved the Egyptian adventure exhibit and worked hard to track down the code to open the king’s tomb. My 5-year-old loved the Curious George exhibit and would have played there all day if I had let him. My 9-year-old twins liked climbing in the KidWorks structure and this time, we a set meeting place in case they popped out on a different floor. They all loved attempting to rope steer in the Joshua’s Journey exhibit.
Tonight would be the perfect time to check out Port Discovery. It’s Target $2 Family Fun Night with admission just $2 from 4-7 p.m. For details visit www.portdiscovery.org.
