Christmas chugs into Ellicott City

The holiday celebration of toy trains and model railroading — including this year’s new O-gauge layout — will be on display at the B&O Railroad Museum, Ellicott City Station, Nov. 28 to Jan. 25. Santa will be on hand to greet the kids Nov. 28 to 30. Also catch the museum’s permanent HO-gauge layout in the freight house, the N-gauge layout and Thomas the Tank Engine. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children 2-12 and free for children under 2. Veterans Day Parade
Commemorate this special day by bringing the kids to Market Square in Annapolis for a parade to honor the service men and women who served over three centuries. The parade starts at 11 a.m. on Nov. 10. www.annapolisalive.org

Also find out how the Patapsco Valley forest has changed through time and some interesting facts about the trees there. All ages welcome. Wear hiking boots for a half-mile walk. Pumpkin Chucking Weekend
Now that Halloween is over, have fun with your leftover pumpkins at Clark’s Elioak Farm Nov. 1 and 2. They have a specially designed catapult that will launch pumpkins across the farm.
